cath

model: lana

song/artist: cath/death cab for cutie

haylo everyone,
i am down to my last ten posts after today.
i am relieved and a little sad.
relieved because this month's series has been a lot of work.
and sad... because i enjoy featuring the people i have in my life.

today's song choice is an "oldie".
it has a very pop sounding melody.
which to me, can be very generic and average.
BUT
the drums....! are out of this world.
while you are listening to this song today,
close your eyes and pick out the drums.
each beat is so exquisitely played.
i have listened to this song a thousand times and the drums never get old.
can you tell i have dated a few drummers in my time? (wink)

subject #19 is an incredible woman, i know, named
lana.

i know lana through ian.
 they are best friends.
as i have gotten to know ian, i have been blessed to get to know lana as well.
it is the best two for one deal i could ask for.

lana is a refined woman with a party girl past.

grown women, who were party girls, have a
knowledge
and
understanding
about life that non party girls can't relate to.

it is something that can't be explained.

post party girls resonate an
understanding
and
intelligence
that only real life situations can afford them.

you can't read this knowledge.
you can't memorize this understanding.
you can only live through it.

lana is a VERY strong woman.
i have a deep pull towards strong women.
women who are leaders in their professions and in their lives.
they do not wait for others to allow them to do something.

lana is one of these women.

the best part is, i think she is completely unaware of this character within her.
which makes lana even more lovable.
she is genuinely being herself.

lana is a women who mindfully takes care of herself.
for herself.
something, that i have, such a high respect for.
something that we as women today, are made to feel ashamed of.
we are made to feel like being selfish with our appearence and well being is a negative.
but it is not.

i say this because,
lana is not someone who enjoys getting her picture taken.
and i know that for her to be in front of my camera,
means that she trusts me.
she knows that i am a woman who will make her look fantastic.
and that i pride myself on self care also.

here are the photos that lana and i created on a VERY cold day in decemeber.
